Everyone knows how much Countshire loves socials. From the spiked punch drenched beauty of a multicultural ball to the...spiked punch drenched magic of fireworks night, there's a whole lot of them to choose from.

This month's excuse for a dance is spring! Isn't that great? Spring! The auditorium is decked out in spring colours, like green and...lighter shades of green. There's a bowl of punch (it may or may not be spiked), spring decorations, free pizza bunches of flowers...I've run out of ideas so think up other things yourself...isn't it great? ISN'T IT MAGICAL?

Actually, she looks like she's come to the wrong place. Head deep in a book about Celtic folklore, still in jeans and a hoodie, Mari sits off to one side. She's apparently oblivious to the music, but in one hand she holds a cup of punch and the plate next to her elbow has a slice of spring themed pizza.

Like hell Mari Llewelyn of House Llewelyn (Ours is the Freeloading) is paying for a meal when there's perfectly fine free stuff at the ball.]

[The other member of House Llewelyn isn't exactly in tip-top party shape either. Actually she's up a tree. Close enough to see the party, and hear the music, but faraway enough that...well, not too faraway.

She has this crazy idea that maybe if she went into the hall, maybe all those people who look like they'd be pretty cool people, all those people she'd like to hang out with but can't speak to in her lectures, they'll all be there. And they'll all say hello to her and she'll be able to talk to them too. All it'll take is a few minutes to sum up the courage. Just a little time by herself.

A little time by herself may or may not have turned into thirty minutes of playing 'Angry Birds' in a tree. Whoops. She sends a yellow triangular bird into a wall with grim satisfaction. Bye bye, birdie.]

Aside from 99% of the female population. WHATEVER. He seems to have misread the dress code for this ball though. So he's a little upset, even as he picks through the buffet table for something actually edible.

Is he upset because of the high number of rejections? Is he upset because of the low quality of the takeaway pizza?
