[What is that terrible noise...? Umeka fidgets in her sleep, face scrunched up in a scowl. It's like someone trying to chainsaw a cinder block...]

Richie! [she murmurs, giving his leg a swift but relatively soft kick.] Richiiieeeee, stop making noises like you're dying...

[This, she tells herself, is the last sleepover.]

[Matty makes a weird half groan, half huff, and rolls onto his side, the snoring stopping.] Iaraaa don't talk about other guys. Baby? [He reaches behind to try and pat her arm.] Okay baby?

Whaaa- [She glares at the blobby, blonde person she assumes is Richie and slaps at his upper arm.] Baby? Baby? You know I don't think it's funny when you try to be creepy!

[Umeka reaches for her glasses with a harrumph.] Sooner rather than later our brothers will start talking about these sleepovers and it will cause a much bigger to-do than their sleepovers. [she snorts a laugh] If you can believe that.

[Why does Iara sound so shrill and annoying?] Baby you don't have a brother, [he mumbles and rolls over. Unlike Umeka, he does not have to put on glasses to see who's next to him.

[Umeka screams. Mostly, she's screaming because Matty is screaming, but when she comes round the bed with glasses on and sees just who is screaming, the horror is real.]

What is wrong with you? This is not an appropriate prank!

WHAT?! I did not do this! You must be in my bed! Why would I do this?! It's horrible!

[Ugh, ugh, ugh. Matty rolls out of the bed and lands on his feet, still shuddering.]

Ugh! What did you do?

I didn't do anything! I'd never do anything!

[She is losing her mind right now, but is digging her nails into the palms of her hands to keep from approaching Poseidon levels of insane.] You did something! Your stupid, arrogant self did something like- like- likelike- [It's getting harder and harder to ignore the ring on her finger.] Like sleep in the same bed as a near stranger! [She grits her teeth and starts shuffling towards the door.] Goodbye.

[Matty's eyes nearly pop out of his skull. He's gone to ball his hands into fists (he'd never hit her, but dammit it's a natural reaction to anger!) only to find something foreign and strange, pressing into the meat of his hand.
